NFL Week 2 - Rob McFarren

And here are my NFL picks of the week.

One comment First - what some Broncos "fans" are doing is downright despicable. Booing Kyle Orton as he is trying to lead the team in a comeback against the Raiders. Horrible support.

Now, some (I'm sure the minority...hopefully????) are talking of buying billboards to Bench Orton and Play Tebow. This makes absolutely no sense other than people having a crush on Tebow. I like Tebow as a person, but he should not play just because of that - we don't hear cries for other likable personalities to start over clearly more talented players. FYI - Tebow is 3rd on the depth chart.

On to the picks:

Kansas City @ Detroit - I like both these franchises, but no Eric Berry + Megatron = Lions!

Oakland @ Buffalo - No way can I pick the Raiders after their penalties last week.

Tampa Bay @ Minnesota - This is a trap game in you see how bad McNabb's numbers were. But they are at home. They'll win.

Chicago @ New Orleans - Did I mention Drew Brees is my favorite QB? Even if Peyton was playing...Brees is my favorite from his Purdue days.

Baltimore @ Tennessee - Home field means a lot, but not in this one.

Cleveland @ Indy - If Indy can't win this one, they may just have the shot for Andrew Luck with P1 in 2012 (And they WOULD take him).

Jacksonville @ NY Jets - Why Jason Hill, who may not even play, spouted off to the media about the overhyped Jets prior to the game...this is a sure sign of loss for that team. I was going to pick JAX before this. Seriously.

Seattle @ Pittsburgh - Great way to bounce back from last weeks loss (talking about the Steelers, not the Seahawks)

Arizona @ Washington - I think I've changed my mind on this pick about 100 times already. I want the Cardinals to win, I like how their offense looked, but I also know how poorly they fair on the East Coast...add in a motivated Tim Hightower to out duel Beanie Wells. Yeah...

Green Bay @ Carolina - Hearing a lot about how Cam Newton won't do to the Packers what he did to the Cardinals. But how many yards did GB and AZ give up last week? Oh yeah 477. (both teams)

Dallas @ San Fran - Another debate. Think Dallas will win, but franchise wise, gotta go with Joe Montana and Patrick Willis. Wait - Joe Montana didn't come out of retirement to replace Alex Smith?

San Diego @ New England - Two of my 3 least favorite teams battling. I go with Wes Welker on Fantasy over Ryan Mathews on Fantasy.

Houston @ Miami - Miami will make this close, they didn't look that bad on offense last week. But D? No way.

Cincy @ Denver - This changes if the fans keep being stupid. And I say this as Broncos semi-fan. I've lived there long enough to always root for them if they aren't playing the Colts. The Cardinals is a toss-up.

Philly @ Atlanta - Atlanta at home. Forget last week, it was last week. Home field.

St. Louis @ NY Giants - Too many injuries on both squads already. But Manning, Hicks, & Manningham are healthy.

Week 3 NCAA - Rob McFarren

Here are my picks this week...hoping to close up on the lead!

LSU vs. Miss. St - the only way they lose is if they have a let down, but I think they are set on BCS title game aspirations so not going to happen.

WV vs. Maryland - close game, but just feel that WVU always has a bad game early. This is it.

Buffalo vs. Ball State - They have a running game!

Pittsburg vs. Iowa - Hawkeyes will bounce back - that is what Ferentz does. If they lose this, it is the litmus test that they are down this year.

Utah vs. BYUCougars played the Longhorns tough, while the Utes not so tough against the Trojans last week. That'll be the difference.

Colorado State vs. Colorado - I so want to pick the Rams. I really really do, they are the Colorado team I liked when I lived there (cause I can't be an Air Force fan!)...ok, talked myself into it.

Michigan State vs. Notre Dame - This is the toughest team ND has played so far. Thus, a loss. I'll be rooting the other way (just like every week!)

Tennessee vs. Florida - Gotta pick at least one upset to mix it up in SEC East. By the end of the year, it won't look like an upset.

Texas vs. UCLA - Could be closer than we think, but the revenge factor is there from last year.

Virginia vs. North Carolina - Gotta pick Carolina Blue.

Northwestern vs. Army - if I were back at the Point, this would be one of the home games to look forward too. But Northwestern is the toughest team they've yet to play = loss.

Ohio State vs. Miami (FL) - rematch of the title game where Willis McGahee's knee got busted up in prime time replay over and over and over and over and over...

UCF vs. FIU - Here's why - T.Y. Hilton.

Kent State vs. Kansas State - Why do I hesitate on this pick? How about because they only beat Eastern Kentucky 10-7. (Quiz - what is Eastern Kentucky's mascot?)

Oklahoma vs. Florida State perhaps this is against my better judgment. Just have a feeling that they want the game more.

Week 3 NCAA - Gary McFarren

The elder member, and current leader, with his week 3 picks. Can anyone catch him?

LSU vs. Miss. St - too many missed opportunities for MSt

WV vs. Marylandthey are home in what should be great uniforms

Buffalo vs. Ball State -  this could be a fun year for anything BSU

Pittsburg vs. Iowa - after losing to the Cyclones will rebound over Pitt

Utah vs. BYU - In the battle of the Bee Hive State - Utah beats BYU

Colorado State vs. Colorado -

Michigan State vs. Notre Dame - An 0-3 start!

Tennessee vs. Florida - Florida to kill Tennessee

Texas vs. UCLA - Texas will beat their future conference rival UCLA

Virginia vs. North Carolina -

Northwestern vs. Army - another 0-3 start! - next week they play at Ball State

Ohio State vs. Miami (FL) -

UCF vs. FIU

Kent State vs. Kansas State - K State over K State - oh yah -  Purple over the Zips (Joe L. our prayers go with you - Gary and Rhonda)

Oklahoma vs. Florida State -  this will be a very fun game to watch. Both of these teams could switch conferences in the near future!

NFL Week 2 - Dave Wasson

Dave is back, looking to up his record. On a side note, I played him in fantasy football and he beat me by 0.55 points. Ridiculously close...and of course we did have the 2 highest scores that week. That was hyper accurate scoring...

Kansas City @ Detroit - To afraid to pick KC now.

Oakland @ Buffalo - BUF can't win two weeks in a row. McFadden will run wild.

Tampa Bay @ Minnesota - Donavan increases his passing to 53 yards this week.

Chicago @ New Orleans - CHI D wont keep up with Brees.

Baltimore @ Tennessee - You thought Baltimore's win last week was lopsided.

Cleveland @ Indy - No Manning, No win.

Jacksonville @ NY Jets - Bleh.

Seattle @ Pittsburgh - They'll get their win this week against a terrible NFC West team.

Arizona @ Washington - This is not a trap game for AZ, they will be ready.

Green Bay @ Carolina - Cam Newton, meet reality.

Dallas @ San Fran  - Somehow, they'll be 2-0 by the end of this week.

San Diego @ New England - Game of the Week. Shootout. Home team gets the nod.

Houston @ Miami - Bleh.

Cincy @ Denver - Bleh.

Philly @ Atlanta - I think Vick will go big this game.

St. Louis @ NY Giants - NY will tear up the St. Louis Secondary.

NFL Week 2 - Dusty Miller

Dusty is back with Week 2 - looking to move into the lead.

Kansas City @ Detroit - The Lions are going to be a challenge for anyone, especially at home and the Chiefs looked awful last week.

Oakland @ Buffalo - I'm not sold on the Bills, but I will take them at home in an early game against the Raiders.

Tampa Bay @ Minnesota - I like the young Bucs over the old Vikes.

Chicago @ New Orleans - I have to pick against my Bears again this week. I hope I'm wrong again, but it will be very tough to knock off the Saints in the Big Easy.

Baltimore @ Tennessee - The Titans are going to struggle all year, especially if they don't start giving the ball to Chris Johnson!

Cleveland @ Indy - The Colts looked like the worst team in the league last week and I just can't pick them even against a fairly bad Browns team

Jacksonville @ NY Jets - I will take the Jets at home, just don't see the Jags being able to run against them and not many teams can pass against the Jets(certainly not with Luke McCown at QB!).

Seattle @ Pittsburgh - I don't see the Steelers playing bad 2 weeks in a row.

Arizona @ Washington - The worst team in the East will still be better than potentially the best team in the West.

Green Bay @ Carolina - It's painful again this week, but the Packers looked to be one of the best teams in the league last week. I don't see Cam Newton having the same kind of day against the Packers D.

Dallas @ San Fran - Just can't bring myself to pick the Cowboys, hoping the 49ers pull this one off.

San Diego @ New England - I will take the Pats at home, this one could be a shootout.

Houston @ Miami - The Texans looked pretty good and the Dolphins will contend for the #1 pick.

Cincy @ Denver - Glad I don't have to watch this game, but I will take the home team here.

Philly @ Atlanta - I like the Eagles on the road on Sunday night. I am interested to see how Vick is received by the fans in Atlanta.

St. Louis @ NY Giants - I will take the G-men over the Rams. This could be another shootout.

NFL Week 2 - Gary McFarren

Dad claims that the NFL was weird in week 1 - and we'll know more about how things will shape up in week 2 and beyond.

Kansas City @ Detroit

Oakland @ Buffalo

Tampa Bay @ Minnesota

Chicago @ New Orleans

Baltimore @ Tennessee

Cleveland @ Indy

Jacksonville @ NY Jets

Seattle @ Pittsburgh

Arizona @ Washington

Green Bay @ Carolina

Dallas @ San Fran (even though the 49ers look a lot better)

San Diego @ New England

Houston @ Miami

Cincy @ Denver

Philly @ Atlanta

St. Louis @ NY Giants

WV vs. Maryland

Buffalo vs. Ball State - Hope the Cardinals can pull off another win this week!!

Pittsburg vs. Iowa - Gotta go with the Big 10 here...

Utah vs. BYU

Colorado State vs. Colorado - Colorado should pull this one off.

Michigan State vs. Notre Dame - I think I want to see Gold over Green this week...I can't believe I even have to pick a winner in this one!!!

Tennessee vs. Florida - Gator's should pull this off at home.

Texas vs. UCLA

Virginia vs. North Carolina

Northwestern vs. Army - Sorry Rob, Don't think I can go with Army this week after they bombed for me last week!!

Ohio State vs. Miami (FL) - I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit.......I hate The U...even more than OSU

UCF vs. FIU

Kent State vs. Kansas State

Oklahoma vs. Florida State - Florida State at home!!

NFL Week 1 results

Week 1 of the NFL is in the books - some really good games, and a huge shift to passing...how many QBs threw for over 400 yards??? Craziness.

The winner of Week 1 was Dennis Lowe - with an 11-5 record - Congrats!

You can see the complete standings here.

Week 2 NCAA - Rob McFarren

Finally - my picks for week 2

Arizona @ Oklahoma St. - Did you see how many points they put up last week? Big 12 title challenger

Missouri @ Arizona St. - Too much travel, too much dry heat.

Oregon St. @ Wisconsin - The Beavers will get Badgered two weeks in a row.

San Diego St. @ ArmyI'll trust Coach Ellerson to have the team better prepared this week - and the cross country travel and early start time should help.

Mississippi St. @ Auburn - Only because Auburn is the 1 SEC team I can say I like. War Eagle!

Northern Colorado @ Colorado St. -  A couple of years ago - this may have gone the other way.

Alabama @ Penn St. - It hasn't been close the last couple of years...that continues.

TCU @ Air Force - I really want to pick the other way on this one. Air Force is considered the 3rd contender for the Mountain West w/ Boise St. and TCU this year.

Cincinnati @ Tennessee - I'll be the one that believes the offensive output last week will continue for the Bearcats.

S. Carolina @ Georgia - Georgia won't lose at home...they need to tear it up in the SEC. Yeah - I'm on the Boise State Bus! Go Broncos!

Fresno St. @ Nebraska - I know that Fresno State will play anyone, anytime. They'll be spirited in defeat.

Ball St. @ S. Florida  - Closer than you think.

BYU @ Texas - Because the Longhorn's all white looks better than BYU's.

N. Illinois @ Kansas - I'll buy into all the hype. N. Illinois only lost, what 2 games last year?

Notre Dame @ Michigan - Both are sporting retro uni's. I like the looks - interesting that ND will have a Clover Leaf on their helmet (I like!) But the fact this is the FIRST EVER NIGHT GAME at the Big House will not be overcome. No way Michigan loses.

Week 2 NCAA - Gary McFarren

Last week's Champion and overall leader's picks for week 2 (of course he's overall when there is only 1 week of games so far!)

Arizona @ Oklahoma St. - too much offense

Missouri @ Arizona St. - ASU to shine all over Mizzu

Oregon St. @ Wisconsin - The Badgers to maul the Beavers

San Diego St. @ Army - The early warriors(Azteks) defeat the now warriors (Cadets)

Mississippi St. @ Auburn - Miss State put the National Champs in their place (they were lucky to win last week)

Northern Colorado @ Colorado St. - The Rams take care of the Northern Bears

Alabama @ Penn St. - The Tide win in Happy Valley ( I wish it would turn out differently)

TCU @ Air Force - I don't think TCU will lose two in a row - they beat the Falcons

Cincinnati @ Tennessee - UT over UC ( why are these two playing - basketball would be the better season for this match up)

S. Carolina @ Georgia - The Gamecocks over the UGliest uniforms of week 1

Fresno St. @ Nebraska - The Big 10's Big Red put the Dogs in the pound in Lincoln

Ball St. @ S. Florida  - It has been fun to be a Cardinal fan this week but I pick the Bulls to win in Florida (Cards saving up for Oklahoma later)

BYU @ Texas - I think Texas is back

N. Illinois @ Kansas - The Huskies of Mr. Harnish beat Turner Gills Jayhawks

Notre Dame @ Michigan - Brady Hoke's men take out the confused Irish

Week 2 NCAA - Dusty Miller

Dusty striking back trying to climb the standings!

Arizona @ Oklahoma St. - I will take the Big 12(or 11 or 10 or 8, however many teams they have now!) at home over the PAC 10(or 11 or 12, however many they have now!)

Missouri @ Arizona St. - Same logic as the AZ/OSU game

Oregon St. @ Wisconsin - This may be the year that Wisconsin makes the National Championship game. I'm pretty sure they need a separate bus for just their offensive line!

San Diego St. @ Army - I will take the Aztecs here, sorry Rob.

Mississippi St. @ Auburn - They lost a lot from last year's team, but they are still going to be very good defensively...I think that wins this game for them.

Northern Colorado @ Colorado St. - Honestly, I didn't even know that Northern Colorado had a football team.

Alabama @ Penn St.I have to go with Joe Pa in this one.

TCU @ Air Force - Same reasoning as last week on this one, the Horned Frog is a great mascot!

Cincinnati @ Tennessee - Please tell me that Cincinnati hasn't become better than Tennessee in football.

S. Carolina @ Georgia - Gonna go with the Gamecocks, don't know if Georgia will rebound from the Boise St. game this week.

Fresno St. @ Nebraska - The newest member of the Big 10(or 11 or 12, however many they have now!) will demolish the Bulldogs.

Ball St. @ S. Florida  - It's not easy to pick against the Cardinals, but USF may be the best team in the Big East this year.

BYU @ Texas - I just don't see BYU winning too many games outside of their conference.

N. Illinois @ Kansas - The best team in the MAC...the Huskies will be too much for the Jayhawks.

Notre Dame @ Michigan - Let's face it, neither school is living up to their storied history...this one could be a turnover filled mess!

Week 2 NCAA - Dennis Lowe

Dennis is back with more picks!

Arizona @ Oklahoma St. -

Missouri @ Arizona St. -

Oregon St. @ Wisconsin -

San Diego St. @ Army

Mississippi St. @ Auburn -

Northern Colorado @ Colorado St. -

Alabama @ Penn St. -

TCU @ Air Force -

Cincinnati @ Tennessee -

S. Carolina @ Georgia -

Fresno St. @ Nebraska - Hate to say it but the Cornhuskers may win the Big Ten in their first season...

Ball St. @ S. Florida  -

BYU @ Texas - Texas is always tough at home.

N. Illinois @ Kansas - Hometown QB again...

Notre Dame @ Michigan - Go Blue!!!! Take one from the wimpy Irish in the Big House!!!!!
